Each panel is painted by hand
To achieve such a rich and textured color, we rely on the well-honed skill of craftsmen who paint each panel individually by hand. No detail is overlooked and special attention is paid to the evenness of the hand-blown coats of paint as well as to the texture each coat produces. A true work of art, each panel bears nuanced variations unique to the artisan who created it, and no panel is considered finished until it meets the high standards of our able craftsmen.
The painting process
To create the brilliant look and feel of the Bordeaux color, our craftsmen hand-blow multiple thin coats of paint on each panel, letting each coat settle and dry between paintings. By layering several thin coats of paint on top of one another, we are able to create the deep translucence and smooth polished feel that distinguishes the Bordeaux VAIO TZ notebook.

Solid State Drive (SSD) (Only available on TZ285, TZ295, TZ298)
The VAIO® TZ notebook takes performance to a new level by utilizing a Solid State Drive (SSD) in place of the typical spinning hard disk drive found in most PCs. Faster and more durable, the SSD provides a rapid boot-up and launches select applications at approximately twice the speed of a hard disk drive14. Plus, without any moving parts, the SSD offers a more durable storage solution less prone to physical damage, such as scratches, which commonly occur with hard disk memory.
